Last year when she came to a local (and really, really, tiny) yarn shop to speak I ended up outside because the place was too crowded. Several folks from out of town desperatly needed a place to eat and I organized a quick convoy to a local tex-mex place. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Ms. Pearl-Mcphee was in the group and that she was as sweet and funny in person as her knitting blog and books make her seem to be. I even saw a picture of myself and the others on her blog a few days later!!

Neil Gaiman is on the list of top 10 writers in my life. I have actually met him at readings once or twice and have a couple of books signed by him as well. He seemed very sweet and pleasant and always does wonderful readings.
Still, I’d like to see him read again sometime so I’m keeping him on the list.

I was shopping a year or two ago in a local Whole Foods market and literally bumped into Ming Tsai who was shopping for produce with his young child. I just said “excuse me” and remember being relieved that I had a bunch of fresh produce in my hand and not something embarassing or premade. Silly, but that’s how I felt.

dunno, really. seems cool, likes to read – should definitely try to read the gormenghast trilogy; it’s awesome. ummm… also, yea, shares my optmiism re the gettin 500cheers thing. they say it can’t be done? pah!

Today I walked for 30 peaceful minutes down the road, past the near by horse farm and back. The gardens are starting to bloom with Spring flowers and I listen to Quirky Nomads a fun podcast on my ipod. I came home, sliced a fresh peach, poured myself a glass of water (in my favorite Dragon Tales juice glass) and am meandering online while the household goes to sleep. A lovely evening.
